Information we process
Depending on which features you use, you may provide: questions submitted to the assistant; tax documents uploaded for Return Review, K-1 Review or Board Decks; information required for the Form 990-N filing service; contact or account details; and payment-related information. Payments are handled by Stripe, and Exempt Tax Desk does not store card numbers.
AI-assisted processing
Several features rely on third-party technology and service providers, including AI providers, to process submitted content and return the functionality you requested. Content you submit is transmitted to those providers as needed to produce a result.
Questions submitted to Ask
Exempt Tax Desk does not intentionally retain the full text of Ask questions in its application database after processing. Usage records keep a one-way hash of the question along with session and quota information so access limits can be enforced. Questions are transmitted to service providers as necessary to generate a response.
Documents you upload
Return Review. Documents are processed to produce the requested review and are not intentionally retained after processing.
K-1 Review. Documents may be temporarily stored in private, server-controlled storage while the review runs. They are deleted after the review is complete, and residual files are automatically cleaned up within approximately 24 hours.
Board Decks. Documents may be temporarily stored in private, server-controlled storage while the deck is generated. They are deleted after generation, and residual files are automatically cleaned up within approximately one hour.
Form 990-N filing. Information submitted through the filing service is retained as reasonably necessary to prepare, complete and administer your filing, and to maintain records of the service performed.
How information is used
Information is used to operate the service, deliver the features you request, process access passes and filings, and maintain the reliability of the platform. We do not sell personal information.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through the service. These include encrypted transmission over HTTPS/TLS, private document storage that is not publicly accessible, server-side access controls, and limited retention of uploaded files.
Sensitive information
Please submit only the information needed for the service you are requesting. In particular, avoid including Social Security numbers, passwords or other authentication credentials, and full payment-card or bank-account numbers.
